Independence High School

Mission Statement:  The purpose of Independence High School is to educate, empower and enable all students to become caring, contributing citizens who can succeed in an ever-changing world, by synergizing students to prepare them for the 21st Century. Through the implementation of Project Based Learning students will be goal oriented and better prepared to be actively engaged in the community.

School-Wide Student Goals—ESLRs

The ESLRs are reviewed annually to determine their appropriateness in relation to the school mission and the academic standards. We find the current ESLRs embody the essence of our curriculum and our goals for student achievement.

1. Understand and communicate ideas, issues, and beliefs effectively.

2. Understand mathematic and economic concepts, as well as plan and manage finances.

3. Demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills in both academic settings and

in the community.
